What can be more fun than reading in the library with your reading buddy? The school-wide buddy reading program benefits the students in so many ways. To begin, a younger reader is paired up with an older buddy. The buddies meet together weekly or bi-weekly to read together, talk about the books and sometimes complete a connected activity that is led by one of the classroom teachers. The students practice reading strategies, are exposed to more books in the library and make new friends to interact with on the playground. Buddy reading at Pythagoras Academy is one way to meet new people and share a love of reading.
