2023 Summer School
Pythagoras Academy is pleased to announce that we’re once again offering summer camps this year, with exciting new themes to capture every child’s imagination. Your children will truly enjoy meeting friends and learning new concepts and skills at PA Summer Camp. These fun, challenging and exciting programs will keep children entertained and engaged throughout the summer. Built into the program is an academic element that will help your child with literacy skills (reading and writing). Children will also have the opportunity to play themed sports and games as we incorporate fun into summer learning. Exciting, educational field trips are also offered as part of our programs.
There are dates to accommodate every family’s summer plans, with options available in July and August. Everything is included in the registration fee (lunch, snack, T-shirt, materials, and field trip costs). Run by our fantastic PA teachers and other educational experts, these summer camps are very popular but have limited available spots that are offered on a first-come first-served basis. So do not hesitate!
Ages: 4 -10 years old
Tuition: Whole day: $2250 (includes healthy lunch, program materials, camp T-shirt and field trips)
July Camps
9 am to 3:30 pm, July 5 – July 27, 2023 (17 school days)
Theme for JK group: Roaming In The Rainforest!
Did you know that close to 25% of the world’s temperate rainforest is right here in our own province of BC? What child wouldn’t like to step into the wild and wonderful world of the rainforest as we bring them closer to nature in a camp that’ll have them roaring with fun and summer learning?!
In this camp, we will explore tropical rainforests of the world, with a focus on the Amazon rainforest. Children will learn all about the amazing animals that make rainforests special habitats. Additional camp activities will include math and outdoor games and activities.
Theme for grade K to grade 2: Inventor’s Camp
At Inventor’s camp, your child will have the opportunity to be creative and develop their ideas. Everybody loves inventing, tinkering and developing ideas. Your child will have fun expressing their creativity and using their imagination.
In addition to learning about inventions, your child will enhance their communication skills, complete math challenges and get plenty of exercise by participating in outdoor games and activities.
Theme for grade 3 to grade 5: S.T.E.A.M Camp - Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics
Back by popular demand, but with an additional twist, our STEM camp has an added component to become S.T.E.A.M. We’re adding art into the mix, making this camp even more interesting than last year! This is a camp that has something for everyone, science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics brought together in one fun-filled and educational camp!
This camp will have an emphasis on Engineering and Math. Let your child have a place to blow off some steam this summer at PA S.T.E.A.M. camp!
Pythagoras Academy Youth Soccer Camp
9 am to 12:30 pm, July 5 – July 27, 2023 (17 school days)
This camp will focus on developing your child’s physical literacy skills, emotional, personal and social development, cognitive development, and overall soccer skills.
Students will have the opportunity to enhance their cooperation and teamwork skills, which will help prepare them for our school boys’ and girls’ soccer teams in the fall. Students will participate in a daily warm up, individual skill development, fun team games, soccer scrimmages and more. All children of any skill level, from never playing before to competitive players, are welcome to register.
The soccer camp will take place from July 5th – 27th, from 9:00am – 12:30pm, and includes a morning snack, camp materials, lunch, and a camp t-shirt. Mr. Williams, our talented Director of Physical Education, and leader of our tournament winning Pythagoras Pythons basketball team, will be hosting this soccer camp for the month of July.
August Camps
9 am to 3:30 pm, July 31 – August 23, 2023 (17 school days)
Theme for JK group: Under the Sea!
Kids love to frolic at the seaside, but beyond the shore’s edge is a big, mysterious world under the surface of the water. There is so much happening under the sea and children are naturally curious about our vast oceans!
In this camp, students will explore our amazing marine world. By understanding how everything is connected in the ocean and how we interact with it as humans, children learn to care for and protect the ocean because they want it to be a better place – not just for the fish, but for them too! This camp is ideal for those interested in what life is like under the water’s surface as we dive into this fun-filled under-the-sea camp!
Theme for grade K to grade 2: Mission Impossible
Your child’s mission in this camp will be to solve mysteries and decipher secret codes. Each mission will involve them using their critical thinking skills, creativity and excitement for going on an adventure. Your young agent will have an opportunity to invent their own ways of communicating with their fellow agents.
Students will develop their confidence as they take on mysteries to solve and work collaboratively with others.
