The grade 2 classes took a trip to Grouse Mountain where they enjoyed snowshoeing as well as First Nations storytelling.
Students have enjoyed martial arts instruction during PE classes. Popular moves include the sit stance, side-kick and overhead block.
The grade 5 students are working on building compound machines in their science class. This is one way of helping to develop the term theme of innovation.
Student art is posted all around the school during the February Art Week. Each piece is a representation of student growth in technique, creativity and design. Also included with each piece is an artist statement.
Happy New Year of the Monkey! On Friday, February 12, the school held a joyful Chinese New Year Celebration. Students enjoyed several traditional activities including mask-colouring, calligraphy, Chinese art, and dumpling-making. Later, students and their families gathered to watch a lion dance followed by a Chinese dance by junior kindergarten and a traditional new year’s song by primary students. Finally, everyone enjoyed a lunch of dumplings, pork, chow-mein and other delicious Chinese foods!
